Operaticus is a group of artists writing about the current state of opera. We believe a lively critical dialogue is essential to the health of any art form. All contributing writers have intimate knowledge of opera through their work in the field as composers, conductors, designers, directors, and singers. Through a unique point of view on this extraordinary and extraordinarily problematic genre, we aim to begin a new dialogue. Our true hope for Operaticus is that it will become a rally to recognize, discuss, and promote exciting work.
We protect the true identity of our authors with pen names to ensure that they can freely express ideas without facing professional repercussions.
The reviews posted here are only the first phase of this exchange of ideas. We strongly encourage reader response in the form of email. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
